Finally I found a tool where to ellaborate my mindmap of the week. It was a shame, but I couldn’t install Cmap tools in my Mac (does anybody have an idea about why?). Anyway, I found out bubbl.us, that is not exactly what I needed, but works and it’s nice.
Before show you the work, some appreciations:
As you can see I just choosed some topics in the main subject of the week 1. My interest is focused in the Connectivism as Epistemology and as Theory of mind and learning (in my case, applied to the foreign languages). I would like also to think about how can we think in Connectivism as Paradigm, as a model from where we could think our environment (meaning our universe, or everything that’s not epiphenomena) through our scientific disciplines. Would it be possible?
Appart of that, I see (and I share also) the interest of the theory about the social and ethic aspects, althougt is not my speciality and I won’t say too much about… Let’s leave it for the coffee…
Of course, if you have any suggestion, or you want to work with me in the mindmap, please let me know. Unfortunately, I have to give permission to the people to do whatever with the mindmap, because it doesn’t works as a wiki.
After that, you’re ready to take a look
Enjoy

I’m trying to sort out note taking and it role in my learning. Your mind map (nice link from George’s post this week) seems to be your way of mapping the connections. Do you find this more useful than taking notes or writing aggregate blogs as you go? If so, can you help me tease out the differences?
Only if you have time or this is of mutual interest of course, otherwise just chalk it up to random musings! (smile),
Alana
Great map! About installing cmaps on your mac, I also had some problems at first, but later on I used another program (don’t use zipeg, but e.g. Bomarchivehelper.app) to unzip the file, and that worked for me. Good luck!
@Jeroen You’re right! I just installed cmaps in my mac without problems! Thank you!
@Alana About mental maps, I use them just to put a little of order in my ideas but… unfortunatelly they’re not alfa versions and, for example, this morning I did a lot of changes in the map I published…
So, what I wanted to say: I take notes always while working in a subject. I use my moleskine, or a little notebook… but for blogging I find them very usefull if you want to show in a right view what is your position or your perspective about something…
If you want, of course, we can discuss what is better, but I think that is just a question of perspective and usefulness.
Hi David,
Thanks a lot for sharing your mind map above. I really like it. The parts are most interesting to me are the bubbles where you added questions to push your thinking. For example, ‘Is connectivism only about knowledge?”. Some excellent ideas pop out when you ask those great questions in a concept map. I notice you’re mind map isn’t finished. Some of your bubble end with a question. ‘What makes a connection a connection?” for example. I imagine that by the end of this course you will expand this mind map to try to address some of those issue. I look forward to seeing this map grow.
Also, I never knew about the existence of bubbl.us; however, from looking at your mind map above I can see it produces a very nice finished product. It looks very professional. One of the reasons I like CMAPS is that it is free, easy to use and it outputs a very professional end product. It looks to me as if bubbl.us might be just as good. I’m going to try to use it soon so that I can compare the ease of use between these two products.
Thanks for sharing.

I was wondering should you had further resources on the topic
Hi, as a rule I rarely write comments on public blogs however right now I’m afraid I must do it. These days I decided to install the latest version of the Apple Safari Internet browser and this site doesn’t display properly ever since. Now the sidebar hides part of the text and I am unable read it. I had a very similar problem with my herbal incense reviews Internet site and I was able to fix it by editing the HTML code. Can you fix it? Thanks! Sorry for my crappy English, it’s obviously not my native language as you understand. I’m Polish
